In the second quarter of 2022, Costa Rica's top consumer finance apps on the Android platform demonstrated diverse patterns in downloads and active user engagement. According to data from Sensor Tower, here is a closer look at the performance trends of the top five applications.
BN Móvil from Banco Nacional de Costa Rica saw notable fluctuations in its weekly downloads. Starting strong with 27.7K downloads at the end of March, the numbers dipped to around 8.2K by mid-April, then surged again to 22.5K in mid-May. The app maintained a steady download range between 15.2K and 18.2K for the remainder of the quarter. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 480K, dipping to 372K in mid-April, and then stabilizing around 460K to 490K towards the end of June.
BN SINPE Móvil also by Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, experienced a significant spike in weekly downloads in early May, reaching 24.7K. This was followed by a decline, settling between 7K and 8.2K in June. Active users increased sharply from 43.6K at the start of the quarter to 55.6K in early May, then stabilized around 39K to 42K towards the end of June.
Banca Móvil BAC from BAC Credomatic Network showed a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting at 4.8K in late March and peaking at 8.5K by mid-June. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 168K and 203K throughout the quarter, with a slight increase towards the end.
Banca Móvil BPDC by Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal experienced a notable spike in weekly downloads in late May, reaching 5.9K. This was followed by a decline to around 1.5K by the end of June. Active users saw a similar pattern, with numbers spiking to 7.5K in late May and then stabilizing between 4.1K and 4.6K.
BN Más Cerca de Usted, another app from Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, had a remarkable surge in downloads in early May, reaching 13.9K. This was followed by a sharp decline, stabilizing between 400 and 550 downloads per week in June. Active users had a notable increase from 11.8K at the start of the quarter to 19.4K in early May, then fluctuated around 10K to 11.8K towards the end of June.
